We are both in love with this elegant knotted half updo and hope you like it too. The best part? This hair design is surprisingly very easy to do (as you will see in our video tutorial below.) This is one of those hairstyles that was sort of created on accident one day, as I was just playing around with the princess's hair..... and turned out to be one of our new favorites. It's definitely on our top 10 hairstyles of all time list!
I posted a "sneak peek" of this style the other day on our Facebook page and several people thought this was maybe a celtic knot (or pretzel knot.) We do have a tutorial showing how to do that (click here: Pretzel Knot Hairstyle if you are interested in learning.) But, this "woven knot" is actually put together quite differently, even though it looks very similar (with its infinity or figure 8 shape.) This is also much easier to make than the pretzel knot (in my opinion) and doesn't require much length either. So, this should work with long hair, as well as medium length, and maybe even shoulder length hair!
I'm thinking this would be a gorgeous hairstyle for Homecoming, Prom, a wedding, flower girl, bride, church, or other special or formal occasion. We added some curls to the ends of her hair using a Nume brand curling wand for some extra texture, but this style would also be cute with straight or wavy hair.
